  • Announcements 

    • Workshops and auditions for The Sound of Music will be on January 28, with call backs on January 29. The auditions will be these dates for the Murder Mystery as well. Stay posted for workshop dates.
    • On Wednesday, January 29th, sophomores will take the CLC placement test during English and History classes.  You must bring your fully charged chromebook to school as testing will be on chromebooks.  
    • The College & Career Fair is Wednesday, February 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the field house. This is open to all current District 126 students and parents, along with incoming 8th grade students and their parents. Visit with representatives from colleges and universities, trade and technical schools, the military and financial aid organizations. 
    • The "We are College Material, We are Ready" African American Student Success Summit  will take place Saturday, February 1st at the Waukegan Public Library from 1 p.m. -5 p.m. This event is open to Lake County high school juniors and seniors and their parents or guardians, so come participate in workshops and planning activities that will support you with your college and career preparation. See Mrs. Knight if you have any questions about this event.
    • STAGE CREW: Students interested in joining the Stage Crew for the upcoming winter and spring productions should meet in the Choir Room on the ZBTHS Campus on Friday January 31 at 2:25 p.m. We will discuss the upcoming productions and work schedule. Please e-mail Ms.Meyer at: meyerm@zbths.org if you have any questions.
    • Anyone interested in trying out for the softball team this spring, you are encouraged to attend the conditionings and open gyms every Monday and Wednesday starting now. Conditioning will meet from 5:30 p.m. to  6:30 p.m. in the ZB weight room and Open Gyms will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Field House. Tryouts begin March 2nd. If you have any questions you can contact Coach Meyer at meyert@ntzb.org.
    • Congratulations to the NJROTC Rifle Team.  Gold was taken by Team 1 which included Jeremiah Vonzell and Silver was taken by Team 2 which included Giovani Salgado.  Individually Jeremiah Vonzell placed 2nd. Navy Nationals will take place in Phoenix, AZ in February.  
    • All young ladies interested in going out for track will meet in ZB room 210 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday January 28th, 29th and 30th at 2:55 p.m.
    • Boys volleyball season begins on Monday, March 9th. Get ready for the season by attending the following open gyms:  Friday, February 14th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Field House, Tuesday, February 18th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the East Gym, and Wednesday, February 26th from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. in the East Gym.  Information for tryouts will be available at all open gym dates and times!"
    • Interested in playing baseball this year?  Come to the open gyms to see what great things are in store.  Baseball open gyms in the New Tech gym will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: January 29th, February 5th, 12th,19th, and 26th.  Have questions? See Coach Schiappacasse or Coach Hutchison. 
    • If you are interested in trying out for baseball this year, there is a mandatory meeting on Monday, February 10th at 3:00 p.m. in Room 215 at ZB.  If you have any questions or cannot make the meeting, please see Coach Schiappacasse or email him at SchiappT@ntzb.org.
    • Badminton open gyms will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at ZBTHS. The dates are as follows: Thursday 2/6, Thursday 2/13, Wednesday 2/19, Monday 2/24, and Thursday 2/27. See coach Bonnivier at New Tech or coach Kolinek at ZB for more information.
    • Open Gym for the golf team will take place at Shepherds Crook on the golf simulators the on January 31st from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. All interested golfers are encouraged to attend! See Coach Wall or Coach Voss for more information.
    • There is a Boys’ Track & Field Meeting on Thursday, January 30th at 3PM in the College and Career Center.
    • Remember to keep headgear off, IDs on, and have a great New Tech day!
