    • New Tech will be running a Tuesday Advisory Bell Schedule today.  We will have our Veterans Day recognition program at 1:30 p.m.

     

    • New Tech Spirit Wear is now available for a limited time.  You can find a link to the Webstore in ECHO announcements and on the school’s homepage.  Ordering ends on November 25th, so don’t delay! See Ms. Jackson in the Media Center if you have any questions.

     

    • Interact will be signing students up for the Blood Drive today during lunch! Stop by to sign up to save lives. The Blood Drive is Tuesday, November 13.

     

    • Upper Iowa University will be at New Tech on Wednesday, November 14th during 4th period. They are roughly 5 -hour drive away.  For Majors & Certificate Programs go to https://uiu.edu/academics/undergraduate/index.html  George Williams College of Aurora, and Morgan State University will be here later in November.  Sign up in Naviance or in the main office.

     

    • The Salon Professional Academy will also visit New Tech on Wednesday, November 14th during lunch. They are roughly 25 minutes away and specialize in cosmetology, aesthetician, and manicurist training.

     

    • You’re invited to join Exploring at the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department on Tuesday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m. Come experience hands on learning in all fields of Fire and EMS.  For more information, contact Nicole Karlove at Nicole.Karlove@scoutiong.org.

     

    • District 126 will be offering the ASVAB test on November 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the ZB campus in room 158. Sign up in the New Tech office and pick up a permission slip if you are interested.

     

    • FALL ATHLETES!! The Fall Sports Awards night will be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 7:30pm in the Main Gym. All Fall athletes (Cross Country, Football, Golf, Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Swimming, Girls’ Tennis, Girls’ Volleyball and Varsity & JV Cheerleaders) MUST attend or have pre-approval from their coach, or else they will FORFEIT their award. Parents and friends are “WELCOME” and encouraged to attend!!!

     

    • Interested in playing baseball this year?  Come out to the open gyms to see what great things are in store. See the board outside the main office for the open gym dates. Have questions?  Please contact Coach Schiappacasse.

     

    • Interested in playing softball and not in a winter sport? Come to off-season conditioning and lifting every Monday and Wednesday 3:15-4:45p.m. at the New Tech Campus. If you have any questions contact Coach Meyer at meyert@ntzb.org.

     

    • Come watch your favorite fairy tale come to life as the Encore Players put on Cinderella at the CCC Auditorium. Tickets are $10 at the door. Shows are November 15, 16, & 17 at 7:30 p.m., and November 17 at 1:30 p.m. See Mrs. Regnier at ZB for questions.

     

    • Speech season practices after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at ZB in 354! See you there!

     

    • Order your yearbook by going to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter school code 19578. Books are $55 each. Orders are ending soon. Seniors – go to this same website to order your senior ad.

     

    • The Zion-Benton weight room has re-opened with all new equipment including 36 new cardio machines. Come over and take this opportunity to get fit, feel healthier and be happier. The Zion-Benton weight room is open from 2:45 to 3:50 p.m. on these dates: November 12th , 13th, 15th, 20th, 26th, 27th, and 29th . There is also a calendar posted in the weight room. For more information, contact Mr. O'Connell. The New Tech weight room is not open to students after school.
