The mission of Student Services is to facilitate each student's personal/social, academic, and career development through the delivery of guidance and counseling activities, as well as through a collaborative effort among the home, school, and community. The Student Services team coordinates district resources to ensure every student has the tools and assistance necessary to be successful in and beyond high school.
The Director of Students Services, Mr. Carlson, is available for assistance with transfer or enrolling students, offers guidance with special circumstances, is the coordinator of alternative programming, and provides other support services. Mr. Carlson also oversees all District assessment efforts, student records, state data reporting compliance, the registration and placement process, student support/intervention systems, credit recovery programs, course master scheduling, and coordinates curriculum development efforts with the Director of Teaching and Learning.
Each of District 126's school counselors is available to offer guidance, support the overall well-being of students, and assist with post high school planning. The District College Counelor and Career Counselor assist students through the college and post secondary planning process along with career exploration. The Registrars are available to assist with records and/or transcripts for transferring present and past students.
The Student Services Support Specialist and Homeless Liaison, Ms. Dalila Mondragon, assists with correspondence enrollment, home or hospital tutoring, secondary school reference forms, GED letters, homebound services, and other related services.
