Drivers Ed Visit to Traffic & Ordinance Violation Court Session
North Branch Court at Round Lake Beach, Lake County, Illinois
Led by DriversEd Instructor Scott Peckler & Event Organizer Marianna Zeidler
Event Specially Hosted for ZB Students
by the Honorable Chief Judge Jorge Ortiz

During the visit, Drivers Ed students had the opportunity to experience "Live Court Hearings" and learn about the process defendants need to go through when they are given a Traffic Ticket.  Fines given by the judge do not include court costs.  If the defendant is younger than 18 years of age, he or she needs to attend classroom sessions relevant to the type of violation.  These classes include Driving Courses,  Anger Management and Behavioral or Attitude Modification among others.

ZB Students visit the College of Lake County and the
    University Center
    April 25th, 2014
Event was hosted by the Latino Alliance at CLC.  After a very informative presentation on the types of financing available, the programs offered at CLC and the options for transfers, the Latino Alliance treated ZB Students with a Pizza Lunch during which a Student Panel interacted with  Q&As.  After CLC, the students visited the nearby University Center where they learned about the consortium-based center that represents 18 universities.  Most impressive was the Distant Learning demo which proves it possible for students to pursue university studies without leaving home.
    Thank You!

Visit to the College of Lake County and University Center

    (April 20, 2012)

A grant from Target Corporation made it possible for all ELL Students to make this visit.  At the College of Lake County our students were greeted by the Men of Vision/Latino Alliance Advisor, Mr. Rodolfo Ruiz-Velasco.  A positive surprise was the exchange of experiences with current college students, among which there were three ZBTHS graduates.
