Our students are permitted to enroll in the Exploration of Technology
course three different semesters through their high school expierence. Students
will explore many career opportunites available to them with "hands-on"
learning.
Course Description: Exploration in Technology is an interdisciplinary class
that will focus on concepts and applications based on different technological
systems. Some of the different modules that will be included in this course
will be aerodynamics, CAD, engineering/structures, vinyl sign making, graphing
design, and electronics to name a few.
This class is designed to help ALL students integrate traditional
academic learning with application and problem solving skills as they participate
in teams of active learners.

Department of Industry and Technology
The technology program at Zion-Benton Township High School is
designed to strengthen student skills, attitudes and knowledge through practical
application in modern technology.
Students begin with a broad overview of technology in communication,
manufacturing, service and transportation. They may then choose to pursue
a field of interest.
Modern processes and operations are studied in detail along with
technical research designed to stimulate creativity and problem solving
capabilities. Instructors will utilize "hands-on" learning activities.
COURSE OUTCOMES
Develop interpersonal, numeric, scientific skills and social
dimensions as they apply to technological literacy concepts.
Utilize decision making and problem solving strategies to design,
identify and consider technological significance within an interdisciplinary
framework.
Explore beyond the limits of the traditional core of academic
outcomes to create integrated learning within a technology-based resource
center
