Announcements

    • Friday is a 1:35 early release day so that New Tech students can attend the district Homecoming Pep Rally which will take place at 2 p.m. in the Zion-Benton main gym. There will be no activity bus for New Tech that day and students must leave campus at dismissal.  Athletes needing to get to the Pep Rally should ride Tech route 1.
    • Students attending the pep rally may take a ZB activity bus home after the Pep Rally.
    • Tomorrow’s Spirit Week theme is Onesie Wednesday. Thursday is Jersey/Throwback Thursday and Friday is Spirit Day.
    • This year homecoming coat check will be operated differently than in the past.  Coat check is for your coat (if needed), and shoes (if you must, but you have to have alternate footwear).  Coat check is NOT a personal station for you to visit regularly throughout the night to get money, gum, shoes, or any other personal items you may have checked in.  Please choose your accessories wisely when dressing for homecoming, and keep the necessary objects on you throughout the night.  You can check your items when you come in, and you can take them with you when you leave at night.  We want homecoming to be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and your help in the new coat check system will make this happen.
    • A representative from Herff Jones will be at parent teacher conferences on Thursday, October 6th to answer questions and take orders.
    • Sister to Sister will be meeting Wednesday in room 207. New members are welcome to join. If you have questions, see Mrs. Knight or Señorita Barnes.
    • Students driving to school need a new parking sticker each year. Please pick up an application in the main office.  You will need to have your license, current insurance card and license plate number to fill out the application.
    • Senior College Application Night for seniors and parents is tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the south café. Are you starting to think about college but are confused by it all? When’s the application season? What about costs and scholarships? This presentation will include new and updated information about college applications and scholarships.
    • Are you interested in working as an intern? Are one of those ZeeBees who has a desire to get practical experience in the workforce, are a junior or senior with a positive attitude on learning, has excellent attendance and classroom behavior, currently has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, and a serious desire to learn about an academic discipline or career field.  If that describes you, please stop by the main office for an application. The application must be returned to the main office by Friday, October 7, 2016.
    • Yearbooks can still be ordered in the book store.
    • Girls’ basketball open gym and tryout information is currently posted on the athletic webpage under girls’ basketball. Open gyms are for any girls planning on trying out for one of our 3 teams.
