{TechCrew Motto} TechCrew
TechCrew is an intense computer oriented program that combines industry standard training and first hand experience with the current implementation of the districts fleet distributed hardware and software roll-outs. The program is student run and recreates the live production environment of corporate leadership hierarchies - level 1, 2, and 3 IT support models.
TechCrew students help with the installation, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of over 2,500 users, 30+ physical and virtual Microsoft, Linux, and Apple servers, Citrix Provisioning Server, 50+ Aruba wireless access points, 70+ network applications, 60+ networked printers, 700+ networked desktop workstations, 100+ networked laptops, and over 60 classrooms with an assortment of LCD projectors, document cameras, interactive white boards and related AV equipment. Though the program is student led, it runs just like any other corporate IT department. Students typically join TechCrew as freshman and go through their senior year. They volunteer every day throughout the school year and the summer. Some members are employed by the school during the summer. Membership ranges from 15 to 30 active members. WebCrew WebCrew, a subsidiary of TechCrew, utilizes student volunteers to design and maintain District 126's website. Members meet throughout the day and after school to work on the school site working closely with school staff in helping them utilize the districts web resources.
